After two semesters in the Honours College, I learned a lot and I can feel some changes happening in me. In general, I learned about servant leadership - leaders do not have to be on the top and be the ones who are highly capable and always giving orders. Instead, leaders are the ones who have the heart and mind to serve for the good of people. This is brought into practice in this semester, notably the talent show and the leadership workshops. In these events, everyone plays their part and make contribution in order to pull them off. Everyone is willing to serve, no matter their contribution is big or small.
It is truly a precious opportunity to be here in the Honours College, to be part of HC2016, so that I can have the chance to meet so many nice people. As I have said during the sharing session in class, these people I met in HC2016 are not just acting nice to impress anyone, or with any purpose - they are sincerely good people, who are all willing to help, to care. I think if I had not entered the HC, I would not have had such a chance to meet such a helpful, talented group of people. You guys are really amazing!
One of the things which I learned, and which I think is very valuable and useful to my daily life is to "let it go". During class and in the preparation of the talent show, we have sung "Let It Go" for so many times and the lyrics have deeply rooted in my mind. At first when I listened to the song in class, I did not have much feeling about it, and might even have a bit tired of listening to it for so many times. But then, this thought changed. During the rehearsal of the talent show, I was really moved when I saw all of us singing the song together. I think it was probably because of all the things we have gone through together in this semester which made this song even more meaningful. I think after this semester ends, whenever we hear this song, all of us will be reminded of the memories here in HC2016 - all the happy and precious moments we had been through. Actually even before this semester ends, just recently, I have experienced some unhappy things which troubled me for a few days. And what I did was to always remind myself to "let it go" and I always looped the song in my mind. It brought up the abundant happy moments of HC2016 in my mind, and they really made my unhappy feelings seemed smaller - or the unhappy things seemed being balanced out by the happy thoughts.
It was truly an amazing journey here in the HC, where I learned to be grateful, to always smile, to help and be inspired. This journey is for a lifetime, and will not end just here, because your influence to me will be continued. Thank you everyone, for everything.
